Raconteurs in Cleveland
Surpassed my expectations! BRILLIANT!
Just got better and better
Seriously an amazing concert. I could use a million words to describe it but it would never make you understand how awesome it was. The Raconteurs in concert are better than their recordings. Jack White takes center stage without even trying but it would be totally wrong to discount the band as a whole in any way. Saw Jack White on tour for Lazaretto and he was great then but I have to say on stage as a band member is where he truly shines. It could not have been nearly the performance it was without Brendan Benson, Jack Lawerence and Patrick Keeler. Patrick Keeler in particular was so much fun to watch. Excellent technique and feel also clearly in his natural element on stage. Jack White was transcendent on Blue Veins. Not a song I loved in the recording but live it could not possibly be better. If you have a chance to see the Raconteurs GO, even if the only song you know is Steady as She Goes, which is a not their best song. You absolutely will not be disappointed, unless, of course, you don't know anything about music.
Raconteurs Vancouver Show #2
The Raconteurs put on a fabulous show on Saturday night, they were all great and Jack White was his usual incredible self and contributed 150% to the show....it was super loud and my ears are still ringing the next day. Awesome performance by everyone. Could not hear the vocals very well in the opening act and could not hear the name of the group but they too were great and especially so since they lost some band members at the border.
Racontuers Concert!!
Excellent concert!!! It was the bomb!!!!
Loud
Saw the Raconteurs Sept 5 in NY. A day later my ears are still slightly ringing and I don't mean that in a good way. I like my hearing. I've loved the Raconteurs since the beginning. Their first and second cd blew me away, the latest not sure yet. It's great listening to their music on cd, mp3, Spotify etc is. But since when did they need to crank up the volume so high similar to a heavy metal concert. Instruments and vocals both were distorted and not in a good way. Their intensity was great, Jack White so full of energy. Brendans voice excellent, thundering drums. but I think you would never listen to that music at those levels by choice. It was a great live experience. And if I didn't see them live I would be left listening to others raving reviews and I would always feel like i'm missing out on something big. Stlll love them ! and the ringing is almost gone.
Ridiculously, Counterproductively, Horrifically LOUD
There is no reason or excuse for playing a concert at this extreme level of LOUD inside a smaller venue; it was difficult to discern anything through the thick plank of solid noise that was beating against the audience. The opening band was generic and painfully bombastic but at least their voices and instruments were discernible. The main attraction was way late getting onstage before slamming the audience with that plank of noise. The no-phone policy was total cringe- so condescending and pretentious. It was hilarious to see the audience consult their smart watches with impunity or just tear open the tacky little socks that the phones were locked in. Overall, super disappointing. Just show up on time and play music that people can actually hear through the noise and let that be that. Would not recommend to anyone who doesn’t like ear-shattering noise, long waits for the band and lame phone policing.
